Meet our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Patrice Herrera.

My name is Patrice Herrera, and I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I earned my certification in 2023, building upon a clinical foundation that spans over two decades in emergency medical services, ER, and ICU, in Iowa and Colorado. My practice is deeply rooted in serving the unique mental health needs of First Responders and Frontline professionals, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, combat veterans, active-duty military members, emergency department staff, and their families.
The communities I serve are special populations, including their families and spouses. Many are children of, married to, or partnered with others within the same field. I am committed to providing compassionate, culturally competent care that honors the experiences and sacrifices of those who proudly serve our communities and nation.
I believe in a balanced, holistic approach to mental health care, grounded in compassion and understanding. I recognize the complexity and challenges of your world—few people face the level of trauma and intensity that you encounter regularly. Having a provider who truly understands and respects your experiences, without judgment, makes quite a difference.
Patrice is currently taking new clients on Fridays via telemedicine through her business. You can contact Patrice at Progress Not Perfection, PLC.
